NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich Beta4

Cool [6.Dec.2011] (Android 4.0.1) (AOSP ICS ROM for HD2) NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich Beta4

NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich is a HD2 ROM based on Nexus One's AOSP ICS ROM. (Thanks texasice for compiling it from the source code.)

  • Include tytung's 2.6.32.15 ICS kernel beta 5.
  • Include tytung's ICS ramdisk (initrd.gz).
  • Include the required files (not in AOSP ICS) from my AOSP GB ROM (i.e. NexusHD2-Gingerbread).
  • Please give credits to texasice (for N1 ROM base), ankuch (for EGL and software video codec) and me (for the kernel and other fixes) respectively if you reuse any of our works. Thanks.

Downloads:

Installation:
  • Please use at least 200MB system partition and 2MB cache partition.
    • Please refer to ksubedi's HD2 NAND Toolkit and/or mskip's guide.
    • Cache partition is only used by CWM.
    • Cache partition size is not important because I use data partition as cache space when running Android.
    • If your HD2 has bad NAND blocks, you may need larger partitions.
  • Full Wipe.
  • Flash the ROM.
    • MAGLDR: Flash NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich_Beta4.zip, then reboot.
    • cLK  : Flash NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich_Beta4.zip and NexusHD2-Kernel_2.6.32.15_tytung_ICS_Beta5-cLK-update.zip, then reboot.

Optional downloads:
Flash them right after flashing a ROM.

Working:

  • SMS
  • Data: 3G/HSDPA using PPP (PPP is stable than RMNET under ICS ROM currently.)
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth
  • GPS and AGPS (Credit to tytung and qwerty_7564.)
  • Touchscreen
  • Vibration
  • Charging
  • All sensors
    • BMA150 3-axis Accelerometer
    • AK8973 3-axis Magnetic field sensor
    • AK8973 Orientation sensor
    • CM3602 Proximity sensor
    • CM3602 Light sensor
  • Wired earphone/headphone (Credit to zivan56.)
  • HW acceleration (Credit to ankuch.)
  • Data usage (i.e. Network Stats and Quota) (Credit to tytung.) (only 2.6.32.45 kernel supports it)
  • Gallery
  • Software-based Video Playback (Credit to ankuch.)
  • YouTube

Not Working:
  • USB Mass Storage (Install third-party apps, e.g. Multi Mount SD-Card Lite.)
  • Camera
  • WiFi Signal Strengh Icon in Status Bar.
  • Native Screenshots (Install third-party apps.)
  • Native WiFi Tethering (Install third-party apps, e.g. wifi_tether_v3_1-beta7.apk.)
  • Native USB Tethering

Known issues:
  • Seeing SD card unmount/mount notification in the status bar when you wake up your HD2. (It's caused by the new kernel 2.6.32.45. Everything is still working. I use kernel 2.6.32.15 now until this issue is solved.)
